Kingston launched the Data Traveler Ultimate USB 3.0 flash drive and this device is touted to be the fastest USB 3.0 flash drive from Kingston. Kingston had earlier launched the data traveler ultimate but the speed offered by the flash drive was 80 MB/sec and the new Data Traveler Ultimate USB 3.0 is much faster than its predecessor. The Data Traveler Ultimate USB 3.0 Generation 2 also known as DTU30G2 is downward compatible and can work just fine for USB 2.0 ports as well. The only difference would be the speed of data transfer to and from the computer system. Data Traveler Ultimate USB 3.0 offers read speeds of 100 MB/sec and write speeds of 70 MB/sec.
Data Traveler Ultimate USB 3.0 is particularly good for transferring large amount of data, very high resolution pics and high definition videos. When connected to a USB 2.0 port, the Data Traveler Ultimate USB 3.0 can do a maximum of 30 MB/sec for both read and write actions.
